Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is the creation of compact, walkable, pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use communities centered around high quality train or bus rapid transit stations.
BJCTA and the City of Birmingham are partnering to conduct a pilot TOD project at the western terminus of the new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Crossplex Station. Once complete, this project will yield a blueprint to continue further transit oriented development across the entire BRT route.
